Our hotel

A hotel with tradition

The Schrofenstein is one of the oldest hostelries in Landeck. Since 1848.

Guests have dined and stayed in our hotel since as early as 1848, i.e. for more than 160 years. The hotel’s name comes from the ruined Schrofenstein castle, which was the residence of the Schrofensteiner nobility. The servants’ quarters once stood on this spot. One wall of the servants’ quarters still forms part of the building.

You can see the carved family tree of the noble family in our Ritterstube lounge. The hostelry has always been at the heart of life in this small town which experienced a boom due to its role as the main intersection of key Alpine roads for travellers and traders in the Middle Ages.

The traditional inn has been owned by the Völk family since 1948 and extended with real passion for detail into a 4-star hotel with an excellent à la carte restaurant. 30 rooms and bathrooms were tastefully restored in 2012 in order to offer our guests even more comfort.
